Chip was a Christmas surprise... The week before Christmas, June contacted me to tell me that he needed a home and asked if I'd like him. As I was thinking about it, my husband was on the phone with my breeder-friend, Gayl. He had her do the leg work (calling June and making arrangements) and told her it was to be a surprise for me. So when I called Gayl that night to tell her that I wanted him, she wouldn't really talk to me. She said she thought the situation had changed, that June's daughter was going to keep him. But she'd call June and get back to me. When I talked to her on Friday, she gave me some excuses why she hadn't talked to June. So I called June on Saturday. She told me that she'd call me back on the day after Christmas to tell me if her daughter was keeping him or not.

After all my family left on Christmas Day, Gary pulled out another present for me. It was a puppy collar. He told me that the puppy was arriving at 1:50am on December 27. And that I had that day off of work (he had talked to my boss already). I called Gayl the next day and she was still trying to keep the surprise because she didn't know when Gary was going to tell me. I also called June and told her that I had heard she found the perfect home for "green boy." She laughed and said she had... Both told me that it was very difficult for them to keep me in the dark and Gayl apologized for hanging up on me every time she was too close to a slip-up.

Chip dam is Max's litter-sister, so that makes Chip Max's nephew and Calico's grandson! Chip's sire is half-brother to Chase's dam, so Chip and Chase are cousins!

Chip is the second champion at Aurora Samoyeds and the first in his litter to earn this title. His litter-sister, Kaya, earned her championship shortly after Chip. Kaya is June's first homebred champion and received all her points from the Bred-By class! Congratulations to June and Kaya!
